Kaspar Simeonov - Volleyball

Born on 17.05.1955 in Dimitrovgrad

Kaspar Simeonov is Olympic vice-champion of volleyball from Moscow, Russia, in 1980.

He took sixth place in the World Cup Tournament in Japan in 1977 and fifth place in the European Championship in Finland in 1977. He has had 453 matches in the A group and 150 games in the national team of Bulgaria.

Simeonov’s first steps in volleyball were in Dimitrovgrad under the coach Slavcho Slavchev. He studied at the Institute for physical activity and sport Vasil Levski and played for the team of Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) under the coach Kiril Nedev. Simeonov competed for the following clubs: Minior –Dimitrovgrad (1968 – 1970), Lokomotiv Plovdiv (1970 – 1984), Avellino, Italy (1984 – 1986) and Kijeti, Italy (1986 – 1989).

In 1989 he began his coaching career in the team of Lokomotiv (Plovdiv), where he is also an executive director. Kaspar Simeonov was a coach of the Bulgarian National Volleyball Team for men from 1992 until 1994. He was awarded “Honorary sign of the city of Plovdiv” 2019.
