Youth centre Plovdiv turns the children into friends with nature

Youth Centre Plovdiv together with three summer day cares for children launches new program for the youngest adventurers - "Friends with nature". The educational games for children were held for the first time in the innovative Bio garden by the team of the centre. The aim was to develop new skills to the children in planting and growing vegetations, while developing creativity, teamwork, cohesiveness and a healthy lifestyle. With many songs, stories and smiles, the children planted the area with greenery and cleaned the Bio garden. Then they had the opportunity to touch the soil, to self-plant their first herbs and to understand how to use them in their weekly menu. They learned what the seed needs to become a wholesome food. Through interactive games they revealed that to be healthy, energetic and strong, they have to choose quality food from their home garden. Finally, the children got pots with the planted herbs and a delicious recipe to prepare with their parents. The Director of the Youth Centre Plovdiv – Dimitria Todorova-Andonova, also took part in the activity and  shared her experience in growing plants. The initiative was attended by the children from summer sports children day care "Victoria Volley". Till the end of August two more groups of children from the summer day cares "Super Stars" and "Blue Summer" will participate in the educational games “Friends with nature”. The educational Bio garden, consisting 5 zones - vision, sense of smell, hearing, touch and weather station, was built in September 2018. All children who want to be part in educational activities in the garden are wellcome. More about them you can find by follow the centre on the Facebook page of Youth Centre Plovdiv.
