The issues in the virtual reality and in the online communication are enhanced with each year. This is the reason why the team of “Youth Centre Plovdiv” was trained by the National Centre for Safety Online. The main aim of the “Cyber scout” Program is to raise awareness in teachers and students about the risks in the Internet through the method of “peer to peer” education. Students from 5th grade are involved in a two-day training for safety online and pass their knowledge to their peers in the role of cyber scouts. They oppose the online risks such as technical problems (viruses), online bullying, strangers in the net and pedophiles. The cyber scouts who have successfully passed the training receive certificates. Afterwards they are able to participate in a competition with other trained students from different towns and schools, as well as to plan and implement public activities targeted at their peers.
