On 3 August, Kalina Damyanova and Nikolay Nikolov from M. E. "Youth Center Plovdiv" took part in the regular session of the "Municipal Council of Plovdiv", during which was voted the draft Strategy for Youth Policy of the Municipality of Plovdiv for the period 2021-2030 proposed by Mr. Georgi Tityukov - Deputy Mayor "Sports, Youth Activities and Social Policy".
After a discussion, the municipal councilors adopted the strategy, which has become a symbol of effective communication between the youth community, who directly participated in the drafting process, and the local government.
This is the beginning of the implementation process of the separate activities and tasks set in the document. This way sustainable mechanisms for support and mobilization of young people will be established thus reafirming the position of youth as active participants in the life of the municipality, contributing to the development of the city and the region.
The strategy for youth policy of the Municipality of Plovdiv for the period 2021-2030 was developed by the educational team of M.E. "Youth Center Plovdiv" with the support of Daniel Dzhinsov and is a result of meetings with representatives of the youth community in Plovdiv and stakeholders, directly participating in the process. The wide representation of educational institutions (schools and universities), non-governmental organizations, businesses, institutions and citizens interested in the topic contributed to the formation of a complete and up-to-date picture of the needs of young people in Plovdiv, which will surve as bases of the policies for the period 2021-2030.
