Celebrating International Youth Day with Living Library and Board Games Evening

On August 12, we celebrated the International Youth Day with two events that brought many positive emotions to the participants. We started with the "living library" format, in which eleven inspiring young people talked about their professional and life path. The activity took place in four rounds, with the participants having the opportunity to hear the story of each "book" in an individual conversation, and even after the end, the discussions did not stop. The topics of the "living books" were diverse - theater, robotics, art therapy, pharmacy, history, photography, human rights, space, technology, entrepreneurship and others. We thank our "books" Dimitar Bakalov, Dimitar Zhelev, Dimitar Ferdinandov, Donka Kyoseva, Elena Stoycheva, Ilian Pehlivanov, Kostadin Nikolov, Miroslav Garigov, Nikolay Lazarov, Ralitsa Pusheva and Tsvetelina Teneva, and our dedicated librarian Alex Karparova.

With the "Living Library" coming to an end, we continued with "Board Game Evenings". Miroslav Garigov was our guest in this edition. He presented the two games he created - Vute to be Sick and Hold My Hat. After that, everyone had the opportunity to play them. In Vute to be Sick the youngsters entered the roles of neighbors in a panel block, and Hold My Hat is a team game of associations.

The most youthful day of the year met different people who told extraordinary stories and heard many more. Everyone - those in the role of readers and in the role of books (including our librarian) was motivated and inspired in our "living library".

And the popular saying that "it's not important that I feel good, it is more important that Vute feels bad" was refuted, because everyone celebrated the day in an unforgettable way.

The youth initiative is implemented as part of the project Youth Center Plovdiv - a powerful factor for local development  under the program "Local Development, Poverty reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups", financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
