Game ON: Democracy on the Black and White Square

On the occasion of International Chess Day (July 20), we are turning the black and white squares into a field of action against prejudice and stereotypes. We will explore how the rules of the game overlap with the values ​​of the Council of Europe - where the law applies equally to the king and the pawn, and every piece is equally important for the ultimate victory.

In the space behind the Youth Center (the big chess), two zones await you that will challenge you to think strategically and act tolerantly.

🚀 We have prepared two game options that you can join in:

♟️ “Democracy on 64 Squares” - team live chess: Forget about individual play. Here we play in large teams. Gather friends and come compete with other teams. Every move requires quick discussion and democratic voting. Will you be able to save your pieces by defending a human right?

🙈 “The Power of Fair Play” – blindfold chess in pairs: Challenge yourself and play blindfolded, relying entirely on the voice and guidance of your partner. Empathy and trust are everything here.
