Educational Forum "Out of frame: Self-initiative, Cooperation, Sharing"

The sixth edition of the Educational Forum under the moto "Self-initiative, Cooperation, Sharing" was held in M.E. "Youth Centre Plovdiv". The topics of stereotypes and their influence in the community, volunteering as an opportunity for professional development, extracurricular projects, innovative approaches in the educational system and the meaning of student self-government were explored. The forum was attended by teachers, school psychologists, pedagogues and other people working in the field of education. In the first part, different stereotypes, their origin and how to overcome them was discussed through the methods of non-formal education. The early afternoon hours were dedicated to extracurricular projects as a way of team building and to the role of volunteering in the professional development and young people. The next topic which was discussed included the innovative approaches in education, which can create a school community and provoke initiative in adolescents. The importance of student self-governance and a student council and their contribution to fight prejudice were presented by the young people. Some of the activities of the “Youth Centre Plovdiv” were presented at the end of the event- charity bazaars and youth initiatives. The participants gave their feedback about the forum.
