Luxembourg was the destination of the fifth international youth exchange, which the ME Youth Centre Plovdiv team carried out together with ten young people from Plovdiv and the region. From 24 to 28 April we visited the Youth Centres part of the National Youth Service in Luxembourg.
Our first stop was Hollenfels. There we immersed ourselves in nature, because the main focus of the centre's activities is the education of children and youth, aimed at the full use of natural resources and sustainable development. At the same time, we learned about the history of the castle where the youth centre is located. Later in the day we visited the Mariental Youth Centre where we saw how media content is created and what activities to promote teamwork are implemented.
The next day, the Youth Centre Cinqfontaines team welcomed us with a presentation of their activities and a tour of the building, which used to be a monastery. The center works to preserve the historical heritage, commemorate the victims of Nazism and implement activities related to the theme of human rights.
Our working visit continued in a creative studio, where a team of mentors helps young people who have dropped out of the education system or those of them who are moving on to the next educational degree or taking a step towards their first job.
Then we saw Forum Geesseknäppchen, where young people use different technologies to create music, robotics, etc.
And this time together with part of our educational team, 10 young people from Plovdiv and the region traveled, who experienced unforgettable emotions, enriched their knowledge and experience in the areas in which the youth centers in Luxembourg work, as well as presented Plovdiv and the youth work in our city.
We have 4 more international youth exchanges coming up, so if you want to participate, follow our Facebook page.
