In the period September 8-12, МЕ Youth Center Plovdiv hosted an international youth exchange. The event was attended by young people from the city and guests from Vratsa, Dobrich, Stara Zagora and Oslo, Norway.

The participants went through the digital media literacy training program developed and presented by youth workers and mediators from the youth centers: Youth Center - Vratsa, Youth Center - Dobrich, International Youth Center - Stara Zagora and Youth Center Plovdiv, as well as our partners from the Applied Research and Communications Foundation and Norsensus Mediaforum.

The young people enriched their knowledge and competences in the following topics: identifying community problems, the world as a canvas for our imagination, how we express and communicate through art, social entrepreneurship, project management, creation with a purpose and digital marketing, prevention and response to online problems.

Through the prism of each of the topics, the participants brought out different community problems, considered in the Bulgarian and Norwegian context. They discussed their impact and identified possible ways to resolve them. Proposals were prepared for activities to establish changes in the public order in relation to the specific cases.

Our guests also had the opportunity to see some of the sights in Plovdiv and visit the Old Town, where they learned about part of our ancient and Renaissance history.

As during any youth exchange, there were many new friendships, great ideas, exchange of inspirations and thoughts and of course - photos. Very soon we will share more - today we reveal to you the most emblematic of our walk around Plovdiv.

We also extend a special thanks to our indispensable volunteers and "young interns" who have been involved in various parts of the exchange program - as assistant facilitators, tour guides, technical specialists, etc.!

The international youth exchange was realized as part of the project "Youth Center Plovdiv - a powerful factor for local development" under the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
