In the period from October 31, 2021 to January 23, 2022, the training program "Young Explorer" was held. During 6 meetings with interactive games and presentations, the participants discussed wildlife, ways to protect it and career opportunities in the field of ecology. They developed skills for identifying various plants and animals, working with field equipment (binoculars, determinants, etc.), met with experts in the field and improved their environmental thinking.
The last session took place on January 23. The future of the program is planned on it. The proposal to turn it into a club and to place more emphasis on traveling and exploring the wild in the natural environment was unanimously accepted. Among the topics were socially useful activities such as cleaning the Maritsa River in the Plovdiv region, afforestation and information campaigns to prevent damage to local flora and fauna. The feedback from the youth was positive. They expressed a desire to continue learning about nature through non-formal education.
The training program is implemented as part of the project "Youth Center Plovdiv - a powerful factor in local development" under the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups", funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
