On 22.02, the Literary Club “Calliope” gathered again to discuss Pushkin’s novella “The Queen of Spades”.
The activities that prepared the young people for the consideration and experience of the book were related to interesting facts about the author’s life, the different aspects of the work and the focus on the theme of fate. Those present analyzed the psychological characteristics of the characters, while also discussing philosophical questions with an organized debate on the topic: “Is fate what leads a person or his personal choices?”
One of the activities included recognizing intertextual connections and messages with other works, such as Dante’s “Divine Comedy”, which sparked interesting discussions about the symbolism and moral dilemmas in both works.
