On the first Saturday of April, the youth literary club “Calliope” delved into the world of Albert Camus, exploring his iconic novel The Stranger. The meeting unfolded in a spirit of philosophical reflection, existential inquiry, and a search for meaning behind the apparent indifference of the main character.
Participants discussed Camus’ life and work, as well as the novel’s place within the context of absurdism. The conversation shifted from literary analysis to personal interpretation — what does it mean to be a “stranger” in one’s own life and society?
The discussion didn’t end with words alone — inspired by the novel’s atmosphere, the group created a themed Spotify playlist featuring songs that capture the moods and contradictions of the text. In this way, music became another channel for expressing their impressions of the book.
