On 13 February a meeting of the Management Committee was held, established to prepare a Guide to good practices related to the rights and needs of Roma women in the EEA and Norway grant programs. Some of the services that can be provided to support victims of domestic violence and specifically those that Roma women can access were discussed.
Donka Kyoseva and Kalina Damyanova from the Centre's team participated in the meeting. They shared some of the good practices in the field that our educational team is developing: the work in Plovdiv and small settlements and the seminar for organizations working with vulnerable groups in 2022 and its upcoming edition in April 2023.
Together with colleagues and partners from the International Youth Center - Pernik and the "DA" Foundation, we outlined the current picture in Bulgaria related to the services provided to support Roma women.
And in the month of June 2023, an international conference will be held in Sofia, dedicated to the fight against violence against women and, in particular, to Roma women's access to justice, organized by the European Institute Foundation. The conference "Working together for a Europe without violence: ensuring Roma women's access to justice to assert their right to be free from violence" brought together the Bulgarian Home Affairs Program, the Synergy network for home-based and gender-based violence, the Roma Travelers Team and the Gender Equality Unit of the Council of Europe.
