At the press conference Georgi Tityukov - Deputy Mayor "Sports, Youth Activities and Social Policy" and the team of youth centre Plovdiv presented the activities that youth workers and mediators have implemented in Plovdiv and in the region. The number of the participants involved in educational and information activities only in the first year of the three-year project under the programme "Local Development, poverty reduction and enhanced inclusion of vulnerable groups” funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021, was 1553 of which 893 young people and 660 children, parents, teachers and adults. The aim of the project is to develop a long-term programme for improving the welfare of target groups in the region, building young leaders with active civic position, developing competences for modern times, learning new methods of non-formal education, exchanging experiences etc. The hard work of the team has contributed to the implementation of a number of events and initiatives such as: national youth forums; educational forums; youth initiatives; charity bazaars; long-term training programmes on various topics; forum theater programme; support of the Youth Council Plovdiv; youth policies creating; creating a handbook for digital media literacy. A set of activities has been developed for the purposes of the project. It includes expanding the scope of activities of М.Е. "Youth Centre Plovdiv" through ensuring material and technical base and conditions for upgrading services, implementation of initiatives related to the activity of the National Network of Youth Centres, developing bilateral relations and exchange of experience and good practices, implementation of public-informative and media campaigns, appointment of a project management team and team for the implementation; performing a financial audit.  А number of innovative and educational activities and campaigns, youth exchanges, long-term programmes are planned for the next two years of the project. In this way the center complements and upgrades its role as an incubator of creativity, social contacts and ideas for sustainable and lasting improvement of the environment.
