The second meeting of the educational campaign "Rights for me, rights for all" took place last Sunday. The topics we covered were related to the right to equality and freedom from discrimination. The participants expressed the idea of equality through the prism of music by making a song about human rights. Each participant was then given a role to guess. We ended with a long discussion about discrimination and its different forms in our everyday life - the place of people with disabilities and what actions should be taken to ensure their full life, the attitude towards people of Roma origin and other topics. The Commission for Protection against Discrimination was also mentioned as an institution working on the problem and its mechanisms for dealing with manifestations of unequal treatment.
On 19 March we will continue with a current topic in Bulgaria. These are the right to participate in government and in free elections and their relationship to the right to an adequate standard of living.
