Start of the youth initiative Rights for me, rights for all

On 19 February Viktoria Dimitrova's youth initiative Rights for me, rights for all started. In the first meeting the young people got acquainted with the idea of the educational campaign and shared what they expected from the program so that it could meet their needs.

After getting to know each other, the participants moved on to the first activity, which was a timeline of human rights. Through it, the youth saw chronologically how different human rights came about and that human rights are fluid and evolve over time. The second task was an examination of some of the human rights from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the participants had to guess the right only by drawing. We discussed the main characteristics of rights, their role as moral principles that guarantee the dignified life of every person. Some of the articles in the document sparked discussions about the nature of rights and how they relate to our daily lives.

The initiative Rights for me, rights for all is continuing with a session on the right to equality and freedom from discrimination. The next meeting is on March 5 at 11:00 a.m., and only pre-registration is required to participate:

The youth initiative is realized as part of the project "Youth Centre Plovdiv - a powerful factor for local development" under the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Enhanced Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
