On 17.10, another meeting of the Training Program "Skills of the New Age" took place in the "Danube" hall, and this time it was dedicated to "Volunteering". The young people entered the topic with a familiarization activity, in which everyone shared their personal experience in the world of initiative and productivity by creating a common crossword of names and open connections with voluntary organizations.
It was followed by deriving a common definition of what volunteering is based on the understandings, opinions and definitions that each one had the opportunity to give. In this way, we generated different ideas and derived the principles on which volunteering is based.
Later, without suspecting it, by taking a position, the youth placed themselves in situations that they would willingly commit to. This led them to specific organizations known locally - in Plovdiv and the region, which work and function with the help of volunteers and people united in the same cause.
In this session, everyone searched for more information about the specific NGO that struck them in relation to the selected situation. In this way, we took into account the abilities and interests of young people, guiding them with what and where they can be useful with their contribution and activities that they can do for free.
The last part required solving cases that an enthusiastic volunteer could actually get into. By searching for solutions during the activity, the young people extracted valuable information, experience and knowledge that will serve them in the future when developing and participating in voluntary actions.
