From March 28 to 30, an innovative youth workshop under UNICEF’s UPSHIFT program will take place at Municipal Enterprise "Youth Center Plovdiv." This program helps young people develop social projects aimed at solving significant issues within their communities. It was first launched in Montenegro and has gradually expanded to different countries, now reaching Bulgaria.
In the "Meteor" hall, eight youth teams from Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Burgas, and Dobrich will gather to develop their social projects based on identified problems, with the support of mentors.
The program has several key goals: developing teamwork skills, engaging young people up to the age of 19 in civic processes, and preparing them to successfully apply what they have learned and pass it on to others.
In December last year, the pilot edition of UPSHIFT took place at the International Youth Center in Pernik. Now, the team at Youth Center Plovdiv will not only host the event but also facilitate the entire process, ensuring support for the participants.
