Youth Centre Plovdiv hosted a visit from an expert team of the Council of Europe as part of the process for renewing the Quality Label. We are proud to share that the Centre will receive support and a positive recommendation for the renewal of this prestigious recognition for the third time.
Our special guests included representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Plovdiv Municipality, the Youth Advisory Council to the Municipality, and the Plovdiv Student Parliament. They expressed their support and emphasized the strong cooperation with the Centre’s team – a key factor in ensuring high-quality youth work and encouraging active civic participation of young people in policymaking.
We extend our gratitude to Mr. Petar Mladenov – Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mr. Kaloyan Stoinov – Director of the Youth Policies Directorate at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. We are also garteful to the Ministry of Education and Science for their expressed support! Special appreciation to the Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality, Mr. Kostadin Dimitrov, and the Deputy Mayor for Sports, Youth Activities and Social Policy, Mr. Nikolay Buhalov. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Georgi Tityukov – Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Youth and Sports.

Bulgaria is the first country in Europe where two youth centres have been awarded the Council of Europe Quality Label. The Plovdiv Youth Centre has already been awarded the award twice, and the positive recommendation from this visit is an important step towards its renewal for a third time. This is recognition of the sustainability, professionalism and strong institutional support behind our work, as well as the consistent application of the Council of Europe’s core values – democracy, human rights and the rule of law, which underpin our mission and activities.
