In the month dedicated to the fight against diabetes, on November 25 and 26, the XI National Conference of Children with Diabetes was held in the halls of the Youth Center. Many parents and children from different parts of the country took part in the event, which was held on the theme: "Access to care with diabetes - know the risk, know the answer "If not now, when?"
Speakers at the separate sessions were: Prof. Savova, Dr. Georgiev, Dr. Malamov, Dr. Simitchieva and Dr. Yaneva, who added to parents' knowledge of how to control diabetes and how to support children in this period.
The guests were also greeted by Mr. Nikolay Bukhalov, who is a two-time Olympic medalist from the 1992 Barcelona Games in canoeing. He welcomes all families who, despite diabetes, struggle and find a way to prove that it is not an obstacle to a good and fulfilling life, especially if sports are included in the children's daily life.
In parallel with this, the educational team of the Youth Center Plovdiv - Dimi, Katya, Michaela and Deni had prepared an inspiring program related to art, motivation for sports, inspiring meetings with famous personalities. Children and young people had the opportunity to meet the world champion in canoeing - Staniliya Stamenova. Her motivational meeting inspired and convinced them that sport is always a good and safe option to deal with stress and overcome various life situations.
Our educational team had also organized art activities related to drawing and revealing the inner potential of each of the participants. The children, with great enthusiasm and interest, painted bags, which they then took home to have a warm memory of our unforgettable meeting.
A meeting with Danail Milev followed, who introduced them to the magic of "badminton". They received a special video greeting from the Bulgarian European champions in this sport and had the opportunity to participate in a demonstration.
After the meeting, everyone took with them new knowledge, fond memories, new hopes and colorful hand-painted bags.
We thank our friends from the National Association of Children with Diabetes for the vote of confidence!
