🏔️The youth camps in the village of Mostovo won their place in the hearts of young people already last year during their two editions. On the basis of collected feedback from the participants in these camps, as well as from young people who did not participate in this activity, the Plovdiv Youth Center held its third edition of the Youth Camp in the village of Mostovo.
🚐In the period October 4-6, a group of young people experienced a colorful spectrum of emotions and activities in the picturesque Rhodope village.
The camp started already on the bus, in which each participant had to introduce himself to the others, completing a crossword puzzle about himself.
1️⃣Upon arrival in the village, the young people shared their expectations for the camp and created their agreement, through which everyone's stay would go smoothly and harmoniously. The program and objectives were presented, and the participants were encouraged to keep a diary in which to note important highlights of the activities. Additionally, it was necessary to split the group into two teams to suit their hosting abilities and interests. One team was tasked with preparing the main meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner - and the other team was tasked with cleaning and tidying up afterwards. The familiarization process started with a few fun exercises, but continued throughout the moments when the teams were busy with their tasks. The evening program called "Mostovo is looking for talent" was connected to the strengths of the participants and was entirely created by one team. The first day ended with many shared smiles and curiosity for what was to come.
2️⃣The second day started with a different workout, accompanied by Bulgarian folk music and filled with folk dance movements. The educational activity "Superpowers and Goal Setting" was the next stop, which provoked the group to look into themselves. The youths participated in a market where they bought and sold super powers, thus learning the recipes to acquire the powers they sought. They also noted in their diaries their future goals and a plan to achieve them. Then came the moments where the teams became explorers. They embarked on challenges related to the past, present and future of the village. The creative teams crossed the village several times to gather the necessary information and complete all the assigned tasks. The whole group went on a short hike with several stops where there was a different topic of conversation and reflection. The entire day's work of the teams was presented in the "Campers' Evening Show". They shared what they learned about the village, who its residents are, what kindnesses they have done for them, what their impressions are about the future of Mostovo and other small settlements.
3️⃣The beginning of the last third day was again set with movements, but this time they were dedicated to athletics. After the impact warm-up, the group entered the final informal activity for the camp, namely Youth in Action. In it, they projected their ideas for the development of small settlements, in which they themselves would be the main persons with their strong qualities and skills.
🔁The final feedback took place on the bus, where everyone filled in what they learned, what their favorite moment was, and what they would recommend the Center team change. There was also feedback for each camper from the other campers, placed in an envelope sealed with many memories and new friendships.
