Youth Literary Club "Calliope" - "A Man Named Ove"

On February 1st, the Youth Center hosted a meeting of the Calliope Literary Club, the subject of discussion this time being the novel “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Backman.
The event began with an interactive game in which participants had to identify which facts about the author were true and which were fiction. Then they moved on to a challenge inspired by Ove himself - acting out various “neighborhood” situations from everyday life. Everyone shared how they would react and discussed how close their actions were to those of the main character.
The culminating moment was the debate on the topic of “Second Chances”. One group defended the thesis “Yes, people can always change”, and the other - “No, a person remains as he is”. The discussion provoked reflections and led to in-depth conversations about forgiveness, change and the way in which Ove’s life is developing in this direction.
The next club meeting will be held on February 22 at 2:00 PM. Follow our pages and events for more information.
