Youth Literary Club "Calliope" - meeting on themovie "Dead Poets Society"

🎞️On August 24, another meeting of the Youth Literary Club "Kaliopa" was held at the ME "Youth Center Plovdiv", which was inspired and based on the film "The Society of Dead Poets".
📖Thematically, the meeting started with the presentation of the two collections of poems by one of the participants in the club - the poet Petar Hambarliyski. He was able to touch others with his poetry, revealing his "kitchen secrets" of well-arranged words, saturated with emotions and experiences. In addition, he shared some interesting stories, gave good examples and talked about the challenge of "revealing" yourself as a creator and master of words in the modern world.
🗨️After the sensual poetry, the participants ventured into the world of cinema by discussing the plot, themes, motives and social issues embedded in the essence of the film. The youth unraveled the concept through a contentious debate about the need for dreams - are they meaningful and necessary or distracting us from the real world?
✏️In this session, a separate highlight was the case of Petya Dubarova, who became a victim of circumstances, people, the system. All social topics that were raised and discussed during the discussion were also reflected on flipchart posters, where the participants had the opportunity to give answers to the following questions: "What would I like to change in the system?", "What would I like others to to try to change?” and “What could I change?”.
🎭Several strong scenes from the film were also recreated in order to encourage the youth to be themselves and stand up for themselves, but also to be willing to accept different points of view.
🔎The last moments of the exciting meeting were spent giving feedback on the extraordinary experience of recreating a strong and truly important screenplay for the younger generation.
