Mariyana Serbezova - Rowing

Born on 15.11.1959 in Plovdiv

Mariyana Serbezova is bronze medalist from the Moscow 1980 Olympic Games in Russia at quadruple sculls. She was also participant at several world championships. Her best ranking is second place at quadruple sculls with helmsman in 1979 in Bled, Yugoslavia. In 1986 in Nottingham, Great Britain she was ranked fourth at quadruple sculls.

She started practicing academic rowing in 1972 and her first coach was Milka Kuleva. During her career she competed for the teams of Trakiya (Plovdiv), Akademik (Sofia) and Levski-Spartak. Her active sports career ended in 1991 and since 1992 she has been teaching physical education at a school in Sofia.
