Valentina Kevliyan

Born on 11.03.1978 in Plovdiv

Valentina Kevliyan is an Olympic vice-champion with the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group from the 1996 Olympic Games, held in Atlanta, USA. Two more gymnasts from the team of Trakiya (Plovdiv) were also included in our group – Ina Delcheva and Ivelina Taleva. At the 1993 European Championship in Bucharest, Romania, Kevliyan took second place in the multidiscipline and became a champion with tools. In 1994, at the World Cup in Paris, France, she was ranked third in the multidiscipline and became a champion with tools, and in Vienna, Austria, in 1995 she took the first place in the multidiscipline and became a champion with tools. At the 1995 European Championship in Prague, the Czech Republic, Kevliyan was ranked second in the multidiscipline and became a champion with tools. At the 1996 World Championship in Budapest, Hungary, she was ranked first in the multidiscipline.

Valentina Kevliyan started practicing gymnastics in 1984 in a sports school under the coach Nataliya Moravenova. She graduated from the National Sports Academy. From 1984 until 1993 Kevliyan was a competitor of the team of Trakiya (Plovdiv) under the coach Nadezhda Aleksandrova. After that she competed for the team of Levski (Sofia) under the coaches Neshka Robeva and Lushka Bachvarova. Since 1992 she has been part of the national team of the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group.

Ina Delcheva – rhythmic gymnastic

Born on 20.07.1977 in Plovdiv

Ina Delcheva is an Olympic vice-champion with the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group from the 1996 Olympic Games, held in Atlanta, USA. At the 1994 World Cup in Bercy, France, she took third place in the multidiscipline and first place with tools. At the 1995 World Championship in Vienna, Austria, and in 1996 in Budapest, Hungary, she became an absolute world champion. At the 1993 European Championship in Bucharest, Romania, Delcheva took second place in the multidiscipline and first place in the final with four hoops and 2 pairs of clubs, as well as second place in the finals with six ropes. At the 1995 European Championship in Prague, the Czech Republic, she became an absolute european champion.

Ina Delcheva started practicing gymnastics in 1983 in the Sports school under the coach Pepa Pandzherova. She graduated from the National Sports Academy. Delcheva competed for the team of Trakiya (Plovdiv) with personal coach Nadya Aleksandrova. She joined the national ensemble in 1992 and was prepared by the coaches Neshka Robeva and Lushka Bachvarova.

Ivelina Taleva – rhythmic gymnastic

Born on 25.03.1977 in Plovdiv

Ivelina Taleva is an Olympic vice-champion with the Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group from the 1996 Olympic Games, held in Atlanta, USA. At the 1991 World Championship in Athens, Greece, she won a silver medal at six ribbons with the women ensemble. Taleva is also a bronze medalist from the 1994 World Cup in Paris, France. She won both gold and silver medals at the individual championships. Taleva became world champion in Vienna, Austria, in 1995 and in Budapest, Hungary, in 1996. In 1995, she won gold and silver medals at the individual championships in Vienna, Austria. At the 1991 European Women’s Championship in Portugal, she won a bronze medal in the multidiscipline and at the 1992 European Championship in Stuttgart, Germany she won a silver medal at six ribbons. In Bucharest, Romania, at the 1993 European Championship, Taleva won a silver medal in the multidiscipline, as well as gold and silver medal at the individual championships. At the 1995 European Championship in Prague, the Czech Republic, she won one gold medal and two silver medals.

Her initial steps in sport Taleva made in 1984 at the Sports school under the coaches Pepa Pandzherova and Nataliya Moravenova. She graduated from the National Sports Academy. Until 1990 she competed for the team of Trakiya (Plovdiv) under the coaches Miglena Gineva and Nadya Aleksandrova, after which she moved to the team of Levski (Sofia). From 1991 until 1996 she was part of the national team – the women ensemble.
